PRAYER POINTS

•    As a high priority:

When the NSW legislative Council resumes on Tuesday 14 October, Rev Hon Fred Nile proposes to bring his Face Covering Security Bill on for debate. Please pray for its successful passage to the NSW Legislative Assembly at this critical time in Australia’s history.
Please find below an extract from the media release concerning the bill, dated October 2, 2014:

“I have now reintroduced my 2010 Bill to ban all face covering that conceal a person’s identity in public - this is clearly a “security Bill” as Australia is now on a High Security Level with large police raids in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne on terrorist suspects” (Rev Hon Fred Nile MLC leader of the Christian Democratic Party).

My 2010 Bill was introduced but I did not take the Bill to the vote. However the current security situation demands the NSW Parliament take firm action on this important security issue in the interests of the safety of all citizens.“


Overview of Bill
The object of this Bill is to make it an offence (maximum penalty of $550) for a person, without reasonable excuse, to wear a face covering while in a public place. A face covering is defined as any article of clothing or other thing (such as a helmet) that hides the face of a person in a way that conceals the person’s identity. The Bill provides that a person’s religious or cultural belief does
not constitute a reasonable excuse for the purposes of the proposed offence. The prohibition does not extend to the wearing of face coverings in churches or other places of worship. The Bill also makes it an offence (maximum penalty of $1,100) to compel another person, by means of a threat, to commit the proposed offence of wearing a face covering in a public place.

•    Since we are assured that Rev Hon Fred Nile and the Hon Paul Green have been positioned in Parliament by God’s will, we give them our fervent support in prayer and trust that the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and guidance will bring them victory as they stand united in Parliament.

•    In regard to the Rev Hon Fred Nile’s “Face Covering and Security Bill”, there is currently a petition being sent online through Care2ActionAlert : “ Australia’s Senator Jacqui Lambie wants to ban the Islamic body covering in an unconstitutional and racist proposal ……….The burqa is a body covering worn widely by Muslim women. It is a religious and cultural statement of modesty and piety, but Lambie’s proposal misrepresents the religious symbol and propagates an Islamaphobic stereotype…..Take a stand against this hate and fear mongering”. 
Please pray significant public interest for Rev Hon Fred Nile’s “Face Covering and Security Bill” so that public misunderstanding and disinformation will be challenged and clarified through genuine education of the facts.  We pray for the failure of all misinformed opposition to this bill.
•    Regarding all the legislation CDP plans to introduce in the 55th Parliament of the NSW Legislative Council, we pray that the Rev Hon Fred Nile and the Hon Paul Green will continue to speak with wisdom as they are strengthened in insight and understanding. We believe that by the work of the Holy Spirit they will receive supernatural favour in Parliament so that eyes that have been blind will see and ears that have been deaf will hear, so that God’s Will can prevail in Parliament.   

•    We ask for favour for CDP policies, including:  a 10 year Moratorium on Muslim immigration, together with acceptance of thousands of Christian refugees from Iraq; the prosecution of the IS as a terrorist organisation with a total ban on the public display of their black flag.

•    CDP mobilisation is underway across Sydney suburbs and NSW country towns as “Team CDP”, led by Rev Fred Nile and Rev Dr Ross Clifford with Hon Paul Green, conduct CDP election rallies with CDP members and supporters, as well as concerned Christians. We pray for their resilience, wisdom and strength as they go in God’s favour knowing “it is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord".   

•    We urgently need prayer to fill vacancies in a large number of State electorates. Please pray that those whom God is calling will respond to His grace and fill a vacancy.

•    Please prayerfully consider a role as a candidate, coordinator, campaign manager or polling booth captain. Thank you.
