Australia Big Ride – Karratha to Coral Bay

Bike for Bibles - Australia Big Ride - Onslow turnoff

After 531 km in 4 days, the Australia Big Ride arrived in Coral Bay yesterday for their second rest day.
There was some tough days into headwinds that called on their strength and dropped the rider’s average speeds by 4-5 kph. Everyone is pleased to be at beautiful Coral Bay for a break, and some are trying to get out on the Ningaloo Reef today.
Unfortunately Colin from Maitland in the NSW had a fall and fractured his collarbone and shoulder blade on the first day out of Karratha. His best option was to pull out of the ride and return home. He’s now mending and resting, and looks forward to riding in the Blue Lizard ride in September. Please pray for his speedy recovery and return.
Key statistics:
  • Distance 531 km
  • Average daily distance 133 km
  • Longest day 157 km
  • Shortest day 105 km
  • Average speed 28 kph

Jim Reports: The riders are greatly encouraged and inspired by every donation that appears against their names on Towards The Goal website. We are receiving substantial donations daily and that is certainly spurring the riders to continue in this EPIC ride.
